The Gift of LOVE AND TRUST

I have been posting on the first of each month in an attempt to share views which I pray will make a positive Godly impact on those who read these words.

I write now, on Father’s Day, as an exception to honor all moms and dads. I do so now because I can best express myself as a father, but I really believe this applies to moms as well.

I read recently a son saying his greatest memory of his father was that his dad allowed him to invest all of his wealth ( the son is an investment advisor). I say with tears my greatest memory of my dad is when on his death bed he told the doctors who were pressing him on how he wanted his last moments to be handled: he said “I want Kelly to be my “negotiator.”

Wow, I still get very emotional as I remember the confidence he had just placed in me. In the end God decided for him to leave this earth with a fatal heart attack but I know he had trusted me to make that most important decision in his life.

Why would he do that? Very simply, Love and Trust.

I believe it was his way of showing me the love he had not been able to express throughout his life due to challenges he lived with that flowed over to our family (alcoholism).

And, I believe he wanted me (and my siblings) to know he trusted us to do the right thing.

So what I want to share this day with all of you mom’s and dad’s is this:

THE GREATEST GIFT YOU CAN GIVE YOUR KIDS IS LOVE AND TRUST

Loving your children is natural but trusting them takes an enormous amount of courage. You express your love best by trusting them to do the right thing. And, you’re there for them even when they mess up.

You know why this is so important to me: not only did my dad trust me but my Heavenly Father, God through Jesus, trusted and trust me every day.

The Creator of The Universe, who has the power to do whatever he/she wants gives us “free will” to do whatever we want, even if it dramatically differs from his/her plan for us. You see, that’s Real Love and Trust.

JUST LIKE MY DAD

So to all of you Dads, Moms, my wife and daughter and son:

I love you, God loves you and trust you every day to do what’s right.

Let’s celebrate this special day by sharing more LOVE AND TRUST with each other. And don’t forget:

PLANT A SEED OF HOPE TODAY, God bless you all.
